November is the new October

Hey FShowers! Thanks to all for coming out to the show last month. It was an awesome time. Decision Makers Penthouse continued to produce quality comedy videos and bring us all one degree closer to Conan O’Brien, Katie Jean Arnold once again blew us all away with her mix of music and comedy, all the stand-up comics delivered amazing funny we’ve come to expect (even in the face of illness! let it be known that Veronica Heath is a trooper as well as hilarious!), and of course headliner Don Frost knocked it out of the park. We stayed late (sorry thanks Kevin) and had a blast!

 

We’re on hiatus this month because our regularly scheduled third Saturday slot has been taken up in my calendar by the Pacific Northwest Women’s Comedy Festival in Eugene. But check back next month, my showers, we will be back in the business of funny! In the interim, take a gander at this article from Neighborhood Notes about how awesome the Urban Grind is.

Holy cow Favorite Showers – it’s that time again!

Celebrate Mocktober with Favorite Show, a monthly Portland comedy showcase! Another night of amusement and audacity is just around the bend. This month, prepare yourself for the spontaneous and brilliant Don Frost, whose unique brand of comedy has devastated audiences all over the country. As if that wasn’t enough, also taking the stage will be comics Veronica Heath, Cody Cooper, Shane Torres, and Shawn Fleek; sweet-as-peaches song stylist Katie Jean Arnold; and awesome videos from Decision Makers Penthouse (featured on Late Night with Conan O’Brien). Hosted by Whitney Streed.

Doors of Urban Grind East (2214 NE Oregon St.) swing wide open at 8 pm on October 17. Come in a costume (because ridiculous is the reason for the season) and pay only $3! All those choosing to not get dressed up shall be allowed in for $5. Click on the flier to get to the Facebook event.

This Saturday Scott Poole is going to be performing with us once again and we could not be more excited. He first performed with FS way back in November 2008. Everyone was blown away with his wit, his dry sarcasm, and his command of a language we barely understand (English). Ever since that day we keep hounding him to come back. Favorite Show is now in the local newsweeklies. Portland Mercury likes us so much they forget how to spell:
